Review procedure
The peer review procedure for the "Semilleros de Investigación" journal at the University of Pamplona consists of several key stages, beginning with the initial review of the manuscript by the Editorial Committee. This committee checks that the submission complies with the Author Guidelines. If the manuscript does not align with the journal's thematic focus or lacks originality, it may be rejected at this stage.
Once a manuscript is deemed viable, it moves on to the peer review process, conducted under a double-blind system. This means that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous, ensuring an impartial evaluation. Each manuscript is sent to at least two external reviewers with the appropriate expertise in the research area. If there are negative evaluations or no response within a fifteen-day period, a third reviewer may be consulted. Reviewers' decisions can include acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, request for a rewrite, or rejection.
After receiving the evaluations, the editor communicates the decision to the corresponding author. If adjustments are needed, the reviewers' recommendations are sent to the author, who must make the necessary corrections and return the manuscript within a maximum of 30 days. Once the manuscript is approved for publication, the process of proofreading and formatting begins, which may take up to a month.
It is important for authors to actively participate in this editorial process. Delays in responding to suggestions or a lack of engagement may lead to postponements in publication or even the decision to reject the manuscript. Therefore, the editorial team reserves the right to make necessary modifications to ensure that the content is presented as clearly and coherently as possible.
